iPhone location changer for Windows

What you need

• A PC running Windows 10 or 11.
• iTunes from apple.com. Windows doesn't know how to talk to an iPhone until Apple's driver (Apple Mobile Device Support) is installed, and the iTunes installer is how Apple ships it. You don't need to use iTunes afterwards.
• An iPhone on iOS 17 or later and a USB cable that carries data, not just charge.
• Your Apple ID, only if you want the iPhone app for no-cable use. It goes straight to Apple for that one install; Geovo never stores it.

Install Geovo on Windows

1. Install iTunes from apple.com and restart the PC if it asks.
2. Download Geovo for Windows and run the installer.
3. Windows may show "Windows protected your PC" (SmartScreen). Geovo isn't signed with a paid Microsoft certificate yet, so Windows asks you to confirm. Click More info, then Run anyway. You only do this once per update.
4. Open Geovo and sign in with your email. You'll get a 6-digit code; there's no password.

Change your iPhone's location from the PC

1. Plug in the iPhone, unlock it and tap Trust This Computer.
2. Turn on Developer Mode: Settings › Privacy & Security › Developer Mode. The iPhone restarts once; after unlocking, tap Turn On.
3. In Geovo, search for an address or click on the map, then click Teleport.
4. To move, draw a route and pick walking, cycling or driving speed, steer with the joystick or arrow keys, or import a GPX file.
5. Click Return to Real Location when you're done.

Take it off the desk

Fixes for common Windows problems

• Geovo doesn't see the iPhone. Install iTunes from apple.com (for the driver), try another cable or USB port, unlock the iPhone and tap Trust. Avoid USB hubs while setting up.
• "Windows protected your PC". That's SmartScreen. Click More info › Run anyway.
• Developer Mode is missing from Settings. Connect the iPhone to Geovo once and try again; the option appears after a computer asks for it.
• "Apple is limiting sign-in attempts" while installing the iPhone app. Apple pauses sign-ins after several tries in a short time. Wait about 30 minutes, then try once.
