How to set up Geovo on your iPhone

Install Geovo on your iPhone from your Mac or PC in about three minutes, then use it with no computer attached. Step by step.

Geovo has two parts: the app for your Mac or PC, and the Geovo app on your iPhone. You install the iPhone app from the computer once. After that, the iPhone works on its own.

What you need

  • A Mac (macOS 13 or later) or a Windows PC with Geovo installed
  • An iPhone on iOS 17 or later, and its USB cable
  • Your Apple ID (the one you use on the iPhone)

Steps

  1. Open Geovo on your computer and plug in your iPhone. Unlock it and tap Trust if it asks.
  2. Turn on Developer Mode: Settings › Privacy & Security › Developer Mode. The iPhone restarts once; after unlocking, tap Turn On. If you don't see the switch, click Run checks & connect in Geovo once and look again.
  3. In Geovo, click Install Geovo on iPhone and sign in with your Apple ID. It goes only to Apple, for this one install, and Geovo never saves it.
  4. When it finishes, open Settings › General › VPN & Device Management on the iPhone, tap your Apple ID and tap Trust.
  5. Open Geovo on the iPhone and tap Start the Helper. That installs the free LocalDevVPN app (why?).

That's it. Unplug, pick a place and tap Teleport.

If something goes wrong

  • "Apple is limiting sign-in attempts": Apple pauses sign-ins after several tries in a short time. Wait about 30 minutes and try once.
  • "Untrusted Developer" when opening the app: do step 4 again.
  • The iPhone isn't found: try another cable or port, unlock the phone, and tap Trust. On Windows, install Apple Mobile Device Support from Apple's iTunes installer.
