The tools in brief
Geovo is a dedicated location changer for iPhone with apps for Mac and Windows and an iPhone app that works unplugged on Wi-Fi or cellular. It has routes, a joystick, GPX and schedules, and uses Apple Maps on the Mac. It's free for 30 minutes every day. It doesn't support Android or iPad, and the iPhone app is renewed from your computer every 7 days. Get Geovo.
Vanish works much like Geovo: desktop apps plus an iPhone app (Vanish Mobile). Its site lists routes, scheduling, bookmarks, history and a killswitch, and says the iPhone app renews itself. We couldn't find a joystick or GPX support listed. See our detailed Geovo vs Vanish comparison.
Tenorshare iAnyGo covers both iPhone and Android, with desktop apps for Windows and Mac. Its product page lists multi-spot routes with up to 99 spots, a joystick and GPX import and export. Mobile apps come with the all-platform bundle, which costs more than the desktop-only plans. The purchase page lists a 30-day money-back guarantee.
iMyFone AnyTo also covers iPhone and Android from Windows or Mac, with teleport, two-spot and multi-spot modes, a joystick and GPX import. Its phone-only option, iGo, is part of the higher SVIP plan and covers one iPhone. Prices on its store vary with promotions, so check there. It lists a 30-day refund.
3uTools is a general iPhone management tool (backups, files, firmware and more), and its Toolbox includes a Virtual Location feature. You connect the iPhone, pick a point by coordinates, address or map, and use "Restore true location" and a reboot to undo it. It's a single-point tool rather than a full route and joystick app, and we couldn't find an on-phone mode.
How to choose
- You need Android too: iAnyGo or AnyTo cover both platforms. Geovo and Vanish are iPhone only.
- You want it to work with no cable: Geovo, Vanish, or the phone apps in iAnyGo's bundle and AnyTo's SVIP plan.
- You test location features and want repeatable routes: look for GPX import and export (Geovo, iAnyGo, AnyTo). See testing location features on a real iPhone.
- You only need to set one point occasionally: a single-point tool like 3uTools' Virtual Location may be enough.
- You want to try before paying: Geovo gives 30 free minutes every day with every feature.
